Character and visual development...waiting for the storyboard.

Here we are with the alpha version of our hero: Randolph Carter (guess from whom we took inspiration?). As you can see from the images we are trying to get a black and white comic-book style, very highly contrasted that seems painted with the ink.
What do you think, can it work?
